Practice Swim Start:

A rolling swim start will be used for the start of the practice swim.  This means athletes were asked to seed themselves according to their projected swim time in the marshaling area. Practice start time is 7:30am and we will be releasing athlete based on their projected finish times for the 1.5K.

Race Cut Off Time: Swim organizers, in consultation with the event safety director, have designated a cut-off time of 90 minutes.  

 

Swim Schedule:

7:00 am = Safety Meeting
7:15 am = Athletes report to marshaling area
7:30 am = First heat starts

Use of Wetsuits: Wet suits are NOT permitted..

Length of Course: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reduce the length of the swim, based on medical advice should adverse weather or water conditions prevail.

Water Temperature: 77-85 Degrees F

Parking: Go to gate 40 and follow signs to parking area inside the speedway.


Marshaling Area:  All athletes must be in the marshaling area 15 minutes hour before the swim start.  A map showing the course will be clearly visible in this area for all the participants.

Safety: Medical provision and appropriate safety craft will be provided during and at end of competition. All swimmers will be required to wear highly visible colored numbered swim caps, which will be provided.

Changing Area: Competitors must leave their equipment in this area.

 

Required Gear:The Organizing Committee will provide a bright colored cap for each swimmer. Each swimmer is required to wear this cap.  Thermal caps may NOT be worn.

Support Facilities:  Limited shower and changing facilities will be provided.

Hospitality: Drinks and fruits will be provided in the catering area at end of race.

Awards:  No awards will be given for this swim.
