Challenge Daytona Triathlon Powered by the Y Partners With Volusia Flagler Family YMCA

CHALLENGEDAYTONA proudly announces a partnership with Volusia Flagler Family YMCA as Presenting Sponsor. CHALLENGEDAYTONA Triathlon Powered by the Y, the inaugural CHALLENGEFAMILY triathlon festival of events, is scheduled to take place at Daytona International Speedway December 7-9, 2018.

“We’re thrilled to get behind this exciting, community-focused, family-friendly event,” said Teresa Rand, President & CEO of Volusia Flagler Family YMCA. “The Y is dedicated to empowering men, women, and children to nurture their potential, and to improve the nation’s health and well-being. CHALLENGEDAYTONA embodies this mission and is a unique and welcome addition to our community events.”

Volusia Flagler Family YMCA serves the Florida community with six locations in Volusia County (DeLand, Deltona, Edgewater, Holly Hill, Port Orange, and Ormond Beach). The partnership with CHALLENGEDAYTONA highlights their commitment to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including designation as Presenting Sponsor of the Junior Challenge, Interactive Kids’ Zone, and Corporate Relay, in addition to the Sprint and Middle Distance Triathlon Events.

Chip Wile, President of Daytona International Speedway, expressed his appreciation of the new partnership. “The Y is an integral part of daily life for so many of us here in Volusia County,” he said. “Not only do they provide incredible facilities for fitness and other community activities, they work to support and engage individuals from all walks of life, and to provide opportunities for growth and achievement. It’s hard to imagine a better partner to support the inaugural CHALLENGEDAYTONA event, given the alignment in our mission and values.”

The CHALLENGEDAYTONA festival weekend will be the first of its kind at Daytona International Speedway. The schedule of events offers something for every level of athlete, including Sprint and Middle Distance Triathlons, the Junior Challenge kids’ race, Relay categories, Duathlon and Aquabike events, 10K run and 5K run/walk events, and the all-new NASCAR-inspired Pitstop Challenge. The top six male and female finishers in each Middle Distance Triathlon age group will qualify for THECHAMPIONSHIP, to be held on June 2nd 2019 at the x-bionic sphere in Samorin, Slovakia.
